Many folk use this day not only to honor America but also to celebrate with family and friends together. Because my wife has to work at her part time job today, my family is saving our cookout for tomorrow, but most folks will be celebrating later today and many will head out for some spectacular fireworks demonstrations.
On this day, we celebrate the 232rd year of the Declaration of Our Independence from England. We thank all those who have come before us and those during our time that have made sacrifices to make sure our Freedoms long endure. So on this day, let’s all join in and sing Irving Berlin’s immortal “God Bless America”:God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the light from above
From the mountains To the prairies,
To the ocean white with foam
God bless America,
My home sweet home.
